OPEN LETTER TO THE GD/OD

THE TRUTH ON CERTAIN “ECO-PLASTIC” MATERIALS: ECO PVC FOR BROOMS AND BRUSHES

One of the major global operators in the sector, we are currently the only manufacturer of eco pvc (that is only made of recycled material) synthetic monofilaments designed for the manufacturing of brooms, brushes, Christmas trees, Christmas crowns and ornaments. In addition, the swarf obtained during our manufacturing processes is wholly and constantly reused in the subsequent manufacturing processes without ever exhausting this chain.

Enclosed is a summary technical sheet of the analytical composition of our eco pvc.

As in our sector and in general the issue of eco plastics is always dealt with in a somewhat approximate and superficial manner, we would like to ask some quick questions to the manufacturers of PET synthetic monofilaments designed for the manufacturing of brooms and brushes.

  1. Is also the polypropylene used in the formulation of the “flaggable” product totally obtained from recycled/reclaimed material?
  2. Can the swarf obtained from your manufacturing processes be furtherly and constantly used in turn in your manufacturing processes without ever ending up in landfill for being exhausted?
